Introduction

Hi
In the world of embedded systems and edge computing, the lines between off-the-shelf solutions and custom-built boards often blur. Take, for instance, the Seed Studio Re4012 solution, which combines the power of an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX module (16GB of RAM) with a compact J401 baseboard in a custom case. This particular setup was my latest acquisition, and I set out to upgrade its storage capacity by adding a 1TB NVMe drive.

However, as I soon discovered, the process of flashing this custom board deviates significantly from the standard method used on more conventional platforms, such as NVIDIA's Dev Kit. In this post, I'll share my experience with attempting to flash the Re4012 using the NVIDIA SDK Manager, and the surprises that came with it.

First and last rule:

Seed Studio re4012 NOT EQUALS Nvidia jetson Dev Kit
